People's Choice Awards 2011

New year, blue carpet

Wednesday marked the beginning of red carpet fashion in 2011. Entertainers came together to celebrate the People's Choice Awards, and they certainly wowed us on the "blue carpet". Pictured above are "Shake It Up" star Bella Thorne and actor/singer Selena Gomez, my personal picks for best dressed. Bella is wearing a stunning nude dress by Haute Hippie and Selena's "butterfly dress" is by Irina Shabayeva. Both numbers are beautiful and elegant but still very youthful. Below are my other favourite looks of the night:

Dianna Agron was probably one of the best dressed stars of 2010. Last year was a huge year for her hit show "Glee" which meant more opportunities for Dianna to show off her amazing red carpet style. What do these three dress have in common apart from their beauty and elegance? All are by fashion designer Carolina Herrera.



I'm sure most of you have heard of her as she is a major force in the celebrity fashion world. What I love about her designs is the classic, feminine vibe they exhibit. Look hard and you'll also find some edgier and more innovative styles in her collections.



As for Dianna Agron, I'm sure the stunning star has plently more to surprise us with in 2011 both on Glee and on the red carpet.

Nina Dobrev at the Scream Awards 2010

All-black never looked so good

Pictured above is actress Nina Dobrev, representing her hit TV show The Vampire Diaries at the 2010 Scream Awards. Nina is always looking absolutely fabulous on the red carpet and this look is no exception. Her stylist definitely deserves a raise.



Nina is wearing a dress by Rock and Republic which is, for a red carpet dress, relatively affordable. What I love about it is the design - it's very rare these days to see a little black dress of this style. It's classy and sophisticated but still age-appropriate. The black theme continues with the beautiful accessories, which add to the elegance of the look.

Blake Lively at the Met Gala 2010

Best dressed in New York

The 2010 Met Costume Institute Gala was held in New York City earlier this year, and I have to say that Blake Lively stole the show - she was definitely my pick for best dressed on the red carpet.

Blake Lively wore a beautiful dress by Marchesa, part of the Fall/Winter 2010 collection. The dress is one-shoulder and a striking blue, decorated with a pretty and elaborate floral detail. The shape, the design and the colour are what I love about this dress and what make it so unique.

Marchesa is known for it's stunning and graceful dresses (for an example, check out the post on Taylor Momsen's red carpet style). However, what I love even more about Blake's dress is that it's short. Blake manages to be elegant while still being age-appropriate, because after all, she's young and so should be having fun with fashion!

Remember that post I did a while ago on Miley Cyrus and her beautiful Hervé Léger dresses? Well I found a great replica of the bandage dress she wore for a much better price!

Don't worry about sacrificing glamour for a lower price, because this Topshop clone is just as pretty. It's a toned down version, which I think is great because you can style it up with accessories and a clutch for nighttime, or just leave it plain and simple to stay chic during the day. In fact, when I went shopping today, my friend saw the dress (knowing nothing about this post I planned on doing) and said to me, "how cute is this?"

Fabulous is one of the many words that describe Hayden Panettiere's look on the red carpet at the World Music Awards 2010.

Hayden Panettiere wore Emilio Pucci to the awards. I think Hayden Panettiere is one of the best celebrities when it comes to red carpet style. She never disappoints, and is always looking fresh and fashionable. This look is no exception, as everything about her dress is absolutely stunning. I especially love the long sleeves and the bold print. Her gorgeous makeup and styled hair top off her edgy yet sophisticated look.

Look at how radiant and refreshing Selena Gomez looked at the Kids' Choice Awards. She's one of my favourite actors - such a great role model and very fashion-forward. I am in love with her dress and shoes. Selena has a way of making a simple outfit look spectacular.

Selena is wearing a Christian Cota dress with the most amazing pair of Sergio Rossi heels. I'm really loving the gladiator inspired theme. Sergio Rossi is another one of my favourite shoe collections.

Welcome to a What She Wore first - a post dedicated to a guy! Taylor Lautner was definitely worthy of this honour. I mean, just look at him! Taylor Lautner is my favourite actor right now (I don't need to tell you again about my Twilight Saga enthusiasm, and yes, I am 100% Team Jacob). I just had to give him a post because I thought he really rocked it on the orange carpet at the Kids' Choice Awards.

Being a female, I don't know the ins and outs of male fashion and style, but I still say that Taylor Lautner looked great in his J Brand jeans. He is wearing a pair of slim straight "Kane in Colt" jeans.

Pictured above are Miranda Cosgrove and Keke Palmer, both rocking fabulous outfits at the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards. I love both the cute style of Miranda's dress and Keke's celebration of colour - perfect choices for the event. Although their dresses are completely different, the one thing they have in common are their peep toe shoes, which are none other than Christian Louboutin.

Shoes are pretty much a girl's best friend when it comes to fashion and I'm sure you all know and love Christian Louboutin. His shoes are genius. They are simple and sophisticated, yet still so glamourous - one of my favourite brands of shoes! The brand also has some edgier choices and a collection of handbags to go with your statement shoes!

As I mentioned before in a previous post, I'm a huge Twilight Saga fan. Nikki Reed is my favourite female actor from the movies. I think she's stunning and very intelligent both personally and as an actor. I thought she looked beautiful at the KCAs this year.

Nikki is wearing a Cynthia Steffe dress. I hadn't heard of her either! So, I searched the designer and checked it out. The brand consists mainly of cute and casual dresses - most of which are florals. Nikki glammed up her dress (the "Sam" Ruffled Floral dress) using a silver clutch, shoes and jewellery.

Although I'm kind of disappointed that Demi didn't try something more fun and original at the Kids' Choice Awards, she does look beautiful and she certainly stuck to her inner rocker roots. Demi is wearing a Black Faith dress (of course) and Rene Caovilla shoes.

I'd never heard of Rene Caovilla so I browsed some of the collection (I actually came across it earlier whilst writing another post which will be coming up soon) - it's a high-end Italian brand. The shoes are original and definitely styles you won't come across often. I can see different shoes going with completely different types of outfits and fashion styles. Some of my favourites had more of a girly vibe.

Victoria Justice never looked better! She is pictured above at the Kids' Choice Awards last night. Her new Nickelodeon show "Victorious" also premiered last night after the awards.

Victoria should give her stylish a raise! Her dress is glamourous but age appropriate and the colour is gorgeous and suits her really well. The shoes go well with the outfit. My only problem is the hair. It's gorgeous, but she should have ditched the blonde extensions - stick to your roots girl (literally)!

We are continuing with the red carpet theme this week...

I've noticed that Taylor Momsen has a little thing for Marchesa. I don't blame her! Taylor is pictured above wearing a crimson strapless number to the 125th Met Gala and a lighter grecian style dress to the AmfAR charity event.

Marchesa is a very new label, launched in 2004 by British-born designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig. The line features a wide range of glamourous evening dresses.

Miley Cyrus must love her life. She's a multiaward winning actor and singer and probably the most famous teen in the world. She has an amazing career and not to mention impeccable taste.

Miley is pictured above at the UK premiere of "The Hannah Montana Movie" and at this year's Grammys wearing Hervé Léger. These dresses are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Miley looks her age, yet sophisticated and just, WOW! I also really like the way she accessorizes the outfits.

Hervé Léger is a fashion house from back in the 80s which was recently relaunched by BCBG designer Max Azria in 2007. The collection is known for its structured pieces (as you can see on Miley) and is most famous for its signature bandage dress. The Academy Awards 2010: The Red Carpet

WOW. Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing the red carpet was at the Oscars on Sunday night. Everyone looked gorgeous! I can honestly say that no one stood out as looking bad. I don't think any other red carpet in the past or future will ever top it. First here is my pick for best dressed:

Miley looked absolutely flawless. The dress has to be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and her hair and makeup suit the dress and the occasion perfectly. For someone so young at such a grown up event, Miley simply blew me away. She definitely stood out as my pick for this year's best dressed! (The dress is by Jenny Packham, who I'll be doing a post on at some point in the near future).

As I said before, everyone looked breath-taking. Here are my picks (in no particular order) for honourable mentions at the Oscars red carpet:
